A Great Getaway from Technology! by Kim P. from Panama City, FL
Sailing date: Dec 2009

Pros:
Not having to do anything but RELAX!!!

Cons:
Too many unsupervised children running around the ship late into the night.

The Carnival Freedom & the staff are wonderful! My only complaint was the unsupervised young children running about the ship late into the night. Anything past 12 midnight is extremely late for children as young as 10 to be left on their own to do whatever while the parents are off doing their own thing. I do not blame the Carnival staff because I personally witnessed them reprimanding children running up and down the stairs, cabin hallways and playing in the elevators; however it is the parents who need to be more considerate of the other passengers and their overall vacation experience. I will be more selective next year when we book our cruise to not pick a date that is a popular school vacation time.

The creativity & taste seemed to be lacking this year. Many option in the dining room were repeated during our 8 day cruise.

Children's Programs
Our son loved Club 02. There were many activites for all ages of children during the day, however the evenings most children were left to fend for themselves while the parents went to the shows, bars or casinos.

Great Time! by Donna S. from Metro Detroit, MI
Sailing date: Nov 2009

Pros:
Ship very nice; cabin clean, comfy-wonderful bed linens, best however was size of the bathroom and shower. Much larger than other ships I have traveled on.

Cons:
I would have preferred a more flexible dining time (

Ship very well appointed. Need more deck chairs, as opposed to lounge chairs, for those of us who like to sit and read in the sun/ on deck.

Best Vacation Ever by Mary H from Lake Worth, FL
Sailing date: Jun 2009

Pros:
Relaxing on the beautiful ship without lifing a finger as we moved to various locations.

Cons:
Can't think of any

This was without a doubt the best way to see Europe. The staff and crew were wonderful - they could not do enough for you. Everyone was so friendly and informative. The food was wonderful and the service in every area exceptional. We felt that we were leaving our friends the day we had to leave the ship. The ports and excursions were great and our cruise director Todd kept us informed about where to go and what to do. The people that took care of our stateroom we also great. Every time we entered the room, it was clean and in order. Would definitely travel on this ship again!

The best way to see Europe! by Jane P from Athens OH
Sailing date: Aug 2007

Pros:
Best organized excursions ever

Cons:
Too crowded

I just returned from a Carnival Freedom cruise of the Mediterranean--12 days going to various ports in Italy, Spain and France. The entire boat, not just the excursions, is so well organized that there is very little of the chaos that you might expect when 3000 people, kids, babies, grandmas, etc from all over the world converge on a ship for 12 days. The cruise director, John, informs everyone every day about all of the ports, excursions and shopping, the crew are marvelous and keep this huge ship squeaky clean--think Disney World. In addition, the excursions--which are the reason we went--are so well planned and organized that you feel like your bus is the only one going to a location when actually hundreds of people from Freedom are there. I would not recommed going in August unless you have no other choice simply because all of Europe vacations then and everything is soooo crowded--and then you add several thousand people from Freedom--that you can barely navigate. But even the stop in Sicily--which I said from the beginning I didn't want--was fun and I got to see Mt Etna, which erupted shortly after we returned to the states. So, I recommend this ship and this itinerary--just go in May or September and you should find yourself strolling across the Rialto Bridge in Venice or the Ponte Vecchio in Florence thinking why didn't I do this sooner!!

Staterooms are small, single beds, but since you don't spend time in them except to sleep, adequate.

There is entertainment in the Victoriana lounge that is fun--saw 2 really good shows there--otherwise think Vegas lounge.
