Great time in the Caribbean by Mark S from Jackson, MS
Sailing date: Jun 2010

Pros:
Room, Service, Overall size of the ship, all of the lounge areas

Cons:
quality of food, quality of entertainment, lack of things to do on days at sea

The ship is beautiful and large with plenty of areas to be with other passengers and to also get away from other passengers. The service and the accomodations on board were excellent.

Dining/Food
The buffet was good as far as buffets go with several different options and stations so that the lines were not bad and had plenty of seating. The Olympian dining rooms were beautiful with GREAT service. However, we anticipated a much better qualtiy of food at dinner and were disappointed.

We stayed in a balcony room on deck 7 which was perfect...no matter what, pay the extra money for the balcony room...it is absolutely worth it.

Ship Staff Quality
With almost no exception, the service was at or above our expectations on this ship. If this rating was based solely on our head waiter and team waiter we would have to rate as "the best". Visarut and Sudiart were off the chart with personal attention and unbelievable service!

Entertainment & Activities
The venues on board were beautiful and there is a significant variety of nice spaces to enjoy activities, but it would be great if there were more/better options on the days at sea. However, Butch, the cruise director saved the day because without his genuine enthusiasm and efforts we would have been a lot more disappointed with the on board programs...Butch, YOU ARE AWESOME!! YA??

Wonderful Vacation by A Traveler from Atlanta
Sailing date: Sep 2007

Pros:
Ship was hard to manuver. My husband and others were totally confused the way it is constructed.

Cons:
Food was fantastic. Supper Club was great.

My husband and I just returned from an eight day cruise on the Liberty. We sort of had the wind knocked out of our sail because of a year of planning of going to Costa Rica and Panama Canal it had to be cancelled because of Hurricane Felix. Instead of Costa Maya, we went to Cozumel which was no problem but when they took Costa Rica and expecially Panama away for Nassau and Turk we really were disappointed. Through all the itinerary changes though the Liberty Carnival staff was fantastic. They all seemed to go that extra mile to make everyone comfortable and to keep us safe. I thank them a million times over. We found the food to be good in the Silver Dining Room. The Harry Supper Club was out of site and the chocolate was to die for.

The Deck was never overcrowded, enough chairs to go around and even the Sport Deck was not crowded. The only problem I had was with the layout of the ship. You appear to be in cubicles and most people had a hard time figuring out. Maybe with the Travel Documents sent they can send a map with explanations for people to study ahead.<g>

Panama Cruise Over Christmas '06, 8 days by Jodi E. from Burlington, NC
Sailing date: Dec 2006

Pros:
spacious stateroom, food was good yet desserts were predictable, staff, the hypnotist was hysterical!!!

Cons:
Grand Maya, noise in only MY stateroom, ship seems to be cut in half..hard to figure out which elevators you should be taking (did a lot of back-tracking)

The ship was lovely. The rooms were clean and spacious however there was a "pipe" problem below (around, above) our room that couldn't be repaired. EXTREMELY loud but no one else was bothered by it. The food was good but the desserts seemed like they "had been done before". Hard to get a drink (soft or otherwise) at dinner. The staff was very nice and seemed to want to help. Overall this was a very nice ship...if they could only do something about the ship seeming to be cut in half...did a lot of elevator changing trying to figure out where we were and wanted to be.

The ship was very clean. The decor was beautiful and the public areas were nice, although often overcrowded. I guess we all came out when it wasn't raining...not the ships fault. You couldn't beat the giant screen outdoor TVs to watch a football game even in the rain!

Dining/Food
The food was good but not as good as I had hoped, or expected. Room service was less than desireable. I asked for cookies one night for 3 (two teenagers) and I was brought 2 brownies, 2 oatmeal cookies and 2 chocloate chip cookies. Evening buffets were a little disappointing, too.

Rooms were very clean. beds were heavenly and everything worked in good order. The room steward even kept my small ice cooler filled with ice as I asked on the 1st day. It was an 8 day cruise!!!

Ship Staff Quality
As I said, our room stewards were great, I was often in the room when they wanted to clean but they never made me feel like I had to leave. I was "quarrantined" the last day and a six-pack of Sprite and ice were brought to my room. Also given free in-room movies you'd normally have to pay for. Son jumped over a chair during one of the shows and medical staff was very caring and patient.

The hypnotists was hysterical. Too funny. The shows were all very good. I didn't partake much in other activites..do wish they adult spa was FOR ADULTS ONLY.
