A So-So cruise. by
A Traveler from Melbourne, FL
Sailing date: Mar 2013 Pros:
The Entertainment
Cons:
The crowds at the pool deck!
This was our first cruise on Celebrity and I have to say we were NOT impressed! It felt very crowded on the pool deck during the day and I have to say that the same old saw applies here: if you're not the first up there, then you're pretty much out of luck for the whole day; people saving lounges for hours, etc, etc. It pretty much turned me off
to the whole experience. There were a lot of international
passengers, more than we've experienced with other cruise lines.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom Quality Our BALCONY STATEROOM was the smallest we've ever had, by far!
Ship Staff Quality You could ask a question and get several different answers
depending on who you asked. There was no consistency.
Entertainment & Activities The entertainment was the ONE bright spot.

Great first trip on Celebrity by
Elise C from Detroit, MI
Sailing date: Mar 2013 Pros:
Great Food! Great Drinks! Great ports! Great Fun!
Here is a mini background, I am 22, and this was my 4th cruise and first cruise on Celebrity (having been on only Royal Caribbean before) and my boyfriend is 26 and this was his very first cruise ever. I read a lot of very negative reviews prior to leaving, about the ship in general, the food, the staff and about the everyone being much older and I have to say... we may never take a different cruise line again! Celebrity was in our eyes amazing on every level. We were pleasantly surprised by how much fun we had being such a young couple on board. How great the entertainment was, how awesome the ship design was, how friendly and helpful the staff were, how delicious the food and drinks were and so much more! The people writing those reviews must have been very picky or just plain like to complain, because there was very little bad to be said about this vacation.
Ship Quality Celebrity Silhouette was gorgeous. The modern sleek designs, artwork and different themed bars/restaurants were very cool. It was a huge ship and was kept very clean the entire week.
Dining/Food It will be very difficult to sum up the food and dining experience we had in this little review box. It was outstanding! We ate way way wayyy too much, but regardless, it was worth it. We had breakfast and lunch in the oceanview cafe each day, tried specialty restaurants Murano and Qsine, and spent the remaining evenings in the MDR. The oceanview cafe was a step up from any Royal Caribbean cruise I had ever taken, many options and the eggs benedict and smoked salmon were so good we had some every day! For lunch there were plenty of options to change up your menu everyday, and the MDR dinners were fantastic. My boyfriend even enjoyed two dinners at times! Qsine was a very unique experience, but well worth it. I would definitely suggest going very hungry, as they have you try many different small dishes, but they add up to become a very large dinner. It was a fun experience and the food was great! Murano offered a classy 5 course meal and lobster cooked tableside, was very luxurious!
Stateroom Quality Very surprised by the extra width of the stateroom and the stateroom bathroom. It was much larger than any of my previous cruise experiences. The TVs were great and had a nice selection of free OnDemand movies and 24-hour room service! We enjoyed that very much a few times wee early in the morning ;) The stateroom attendents were very prompt when needed, and so friendly. They were always available whenever we needed a fresh towel or more ice.
Ship Staff Quality The staff across the whole ship were very friendly and kind, they went above and beyond to help guests. Our waitor and assistant waitress in the MDR were awesome, great people to get to know over the week. We spoke with some of the bartenders and the waitresses/waitors in the other restaurants and they were great, entertaining, friendly and gave a generous pour!
Entertainment & Activities We did not go to as many shows as we would have liked too, but very much enjoyed the bars/nightclubs and the casino. My boyfriend even won one of the poker tournaments! We played Bingo and trivia one night, and enjoyed watching the pool volleyball activities. The Sky Lounge and Quasar nightclub were great, Sky lounge playing music from old to new and Quasar playing all new music. The entertainers onboard were amazing, we enjoyed listening to them before dinner on the main floor, in the bars and around the pool. The DJ/steel drum combo was awesome and The Runaways band was incredible!

Great ship is you do not want to Drink by
Rebecca Hardy from Newark, DE
Sailing date: Feb 2013 Pros:
Beautiful Ship
Cons:
It was very hard to get a drink at the poo or pretty much any bar on the ship
Great ship with happy workers. We felt very safe on this ship.
Ship Quality Beautiful decor and very clean.
Dining/Food Food was the best we have ever had but the service was the worst we have ever had. We had a table for 12 and were always the last to leave the dinning room because of the service to our table.
Stateroom Quality Nice size and the decor was very nice and up to date. The balcony was awesome and the chairs were of the highest quality. Even the towels were the best you could buy.
Ship Staff Quality Stateroom attendant and most employees we came into contact with were average or a little above but not special Only the staff at the Captains Club went over and beyond.
Entertainment & Activities The were awful if we could even get in. More than once we were so late getting out of the dinning room all seats in the shows were taken and we could not even get a seat. The ones we dis see we left early because they were terrible.

A Bad Idea by
Chuck B. from Auburn, MI
Sailing date: Jan 2013 Pros:
The weather
Cons:
The service and entertainment. The coffee was Horrid!!
The ship itself was beautiful. The stateroom was quite nice and kept well stocked and cleaned by our steward. Cleanliness was impressive and layout was equally impressive.
Ship Quality Very beautiful. Quite clean and deserving of an equally impressive staff to man her.
Dining/Food The daily buffet in the Oceanview cafe was somewhat boring. The coffee was absolutely the worst I've ever tasted. This was a common complaint among folks we spoke with.
Stateroom Quality Quite comfortable and clean. A bit stuffy during the middle of the night, when the A/C seemed to be turned off for a period. Overall met our expectations.
Ship Staff Quality How about "Avoiding interaction at all costs" The bar staff seemed to intentionally ignore guests standing at the bar awaiting service, while they joked and cajoled among themselves. This is a reflection of poor training and management. Service, to me, is the reason they're on the ship. But for the guests, they would not be employed.
Entertainment & Activities Less than High School quality. Truly pitiful. The dancers seemed to stomp about, often out of sync, looking like a junior high dance recital. Awful.

Excellent experience ... A real step up by
A Traveler from Coeur d Alene, Idaho
Sailing date: Dec 2012 Pros:
Great dining options and superb service
Cons:
Shore excursions very routine
The Celebrity onboard experience is clearly a notch above most lines. Great variety of dining options, nicer amenities and excellent entertainment. The wine service staff is wonderful. The shore excursions are routine. If Celebrity could find a way to "class up" those they would be on top of the world.

Modern, clean and friendly
From the first until the last day...there was nothing to complain. The food was in all restaurants perfect. Except at the tuscan grill. It was good, but not better than at the main restaurant.

Wonderfully relaxing cruise by
Kathy G. from Doylestown, Pa
Sailing date: Jan 2012 Pros:
We loved the understated elegance of the ship and the outstanding crew and service
Cons:
Coffee was very very strong, almost as if it had burned....two weeks of this was hard to take, we like a dunkin donuts type coffee and this was like Starbucks on steroids!
An understated elegance prevails on this ship. The service and the crew were absolutely outstanding, we felt welcome and appreciated at every turn. It was an exceptionally nice cruise experience.
Ship Quality constant cleaning and attention to detail kept this ship immaculate
Dining/Food nice variety, we did select dinning for the first time and liked it once we figured out it would be best to make a few reservations so we did not have to stand in line although this is not bad if you like to dine early, as we do, but it can be a bit of a wait if you like to dine later. We were quite happy using the select dinning and sharing different tables each nite, meeting quite a few people from all parts of the country. The speciality dinning rooms were a treat, one that we thought we really didn't need to be bothered with...but, we are happy we did. The Tuscan Grill was very nice and more casual, The Murano was a real treat with exquisite decor and food that was out of this world. Their staff was just "over the top"...with attention to detail...our Lobster was cooked table side...a very special dinning experience.
Stateroom Quality Lovely stateroom with balcony, felt a bit smaller, compact storage space, the storage compartments over the beds were a little hard to use....the bed and pillows were wonderful!! The Frette bathrobe was a comfortable treat. The room was very nice but on a 12 day cruise it can feel a little cramped...might have opted for a large accommodation had I know this fact.
Ship Staff Quality Oh my word, this staff and crew were absolutely outstanding, truly exceptional right down to the stateroom attendants.
Entertainment & Activities A very nice variety, their choice of entertainers are a cut above...
